Self-Exploration
Who are you? What is your true calling in life? What parts of yourself do you hide from the world?
This may be the first time that someone has asked you these questions or given you the space to explore these questions. It is not uncommon for people to respond with, “I don’t know”. This unfamiliarity with our true selves can lead to anxiety, depression, mood swings, impulsivity, and a general sense of unhappiness. Or maybe you feel okay with the way your life is going but are still curious to explore these questions and become acquainted with your true self.
“The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are.” Carl G. Jung
During our work together, we will look at various aspects of your life including current problematic symptoms, relationship patterns, early childhood experiences, and bringing the unconscious into the realm of consciousness. It is not uncommon to feel anxious or fearful of walking this unknown territory, but the result, a more authentic life, tends to outweigh the risks.
It is a heroic journey and can feel like a labyrinth at times. Sometimes we may not like what we see, or may fear others might not approve of our path. Other times, we may feel lost and need of guidance. Every heroic journey requires proper traveling companions. Through our work together, I will be there to encourage, challenge, and offer you support. I will echo your inner strength and self-compassion, and guide you to rediscover those things within yourself.
